Tim Fanning leads our economics and impact work, working across research and strategic development engagements.

Tim Fanning, Chief Economist BOP Consulting

Tim is a development economist with 20 years' experience in economic and social impact assessment, with a strong track record of supporting funders through HM Treasury Green Book appraisal and evaluation.

His clients include leading arts and cultural organisations including; the Imperial War Museum, Southbank Centre, National Museums Northern Ireland, Tate, Barbican Centre, the BBC, Trinidad Carnival, LUMA Arles (France) and TO Live (Toronto).

In addition, he has undertaken innovative sector mapping assignments for Combined Authorities and for sector bodies, including the UK animation sector.

Beyond the cultural and creative sectors, Tim has worked with around one-third of UK universities to assess their economic contribution, including Glasgow School of Art, University of the Arts London and Falmouth University.

He has also advised major corporates such as BT, United Utilities and Portakabin, and acted as retained economic adviser to the North and Mid Wales Growth Deals, supporting over £1 billion of investment.

He holds degrees from the London School of Economics and Manchester Business School and is accredited in the Better Business Case framework.
