BOP is working with the British Fashion Council to demonstrate London Fashion Week’s economic, cultural and global impact
London Fashion Week is one of the world’s leading fashion platforms and a key showcase for British creativity, bringing together designers, buyers, media and audiences from the UK and internationally. It generates significant economic activity, supports businesses and employment across the fashion ecosystem, contributes to London’s cultural life, and the UK’s position within the international fashion industry.
BOP is currently working with the British Fashion Council (BFC) to measure this impact, building a robust evidence base to demonstrate London Fashion Week’s contribution to the UK’s creative economy and inform the BFC’s longer-term strategy.
Our work combines economic modelling with audience, stakeholder and industry research to understand both the immediate value generated and its wider contribution to employment, innovation, diversity, sustainability and international competitiveness.
We are also developing an integrated impact framework that will enable the BFC to consistently measure impact over time and use robust evidence to inform advocacy, funding and long-term strategy.
The resulting evidence will give the BFC a stronger platform for advocacy, funding and long-term planning, while helping to articulate the wider value of London Fashion Week to the UK economy.
