David was mostly recently Head of Visitor Experience at Tate, responsible for the development of Tate’s visitor engagement proposition, and day-to-day operation of Tate Britain and Tate Modern.
Prior to that David was Chief Operating Officer at The Landmark Trust, and Head of Operations at Hampton Court Palace, where he led on numerous projects including the delivery of the 2012 Olympic cycling time trial and the customer service elements of the 2014 ‘Poppies’ installation at the Tower of London.
David is also a recipent of the British Empire Medal, for services to the public during Operation London Bridge, where he managed the accessible queue for the lying in state of Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II.
He holds a masters degree in Heritage Management (MA) from Birmingham University, and an undergraduate degree in History (BA) from University of Wales, Swansea.
Alongside his work at BOP David is a trustee of Painshill Park Trust, and The Museum of the Broads.
David has over 25 years-experience in developing and delivering visitor experience within some of the UK’s leading commercial and cultural organisations.
