Ireland’s live entertainment sector

Our research into the sector’s economic and cultural impact

Commissioned by Wide Awake Communications, we published a groundbreaking study, Let’s Celebrate, on the economic and cultural impact of live entertainment in Ireland.

The analysis drew upon over 5,700 survey responses, as well as data shared by Ticketmaster, and the support of the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) and Fáilte Ireland. We used this information to build an economic model that indicated that over a 12-month period, across the island of Ireland as a whole, live entertainment generated an additional €3.8bn in revenue, €1.7bn in GVA, and over 11,000 jobs.

In addition, we surveyed attendees on the cultural significance of Irish live entertainment, in addition to gathering quotations on this from significant Irish figures, which we set out in a report that secured significant press coverage in Ireland.
