Innovation and change in culture and the creative industries are key themes that cut across most of his projects and assignments.

Jan’s work for BOP has so far included audiovisual sector development assignments in the Middle East and Asia.

He previously headed up Europe’s cinema trade body, the Union Internationale des Cinemas (UNIC), representing cinemas and national trade associations from 37 territories. He also gained experience as a consultant and researcher for two creative industry consultancies in Brussels and London and worked for a public film agency in Germany.

Next to his role as an independent advisor Jan currently is the International Vice President of the International Cinemas Technology Association, a Director of the Event Cinema Association and a Board Member of the European Digital Cinema Forum. He is the chairman of and advisor to Dubai-based META Cinema Forum.

Jan has an MSc in Media Regulation from the London School of Economics and a BA in Arts Management from the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts.
