The Association of British Orchestras (ABO) has produced a short but useful summary of its survey of 48 UK orchestras for 2009/10.

Among other things, it finds that the orchestras gave more than 3,700 performances  to a total of 4.18m people in Britain, and made 160 CD recordings. Their total income for the year was almost £150m.
